Leadership in education and awareness
The Gippsland Water Factory is an innovative wastewater treatment and recycling system which will introduce a new era for water technology, discovery and education.
It will provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about water conservation and sustainable water management. It will also provide training, research and development opportunities.
Schools program
Gippsland Water is committed to taking a leading role in education and raising community awareness about water conservation and sustainable water management. An interesting and informative schools program will be designed for primary and secondary students as part of the Gippsland Water Factory.
The aim of the schools program will be to use fresh and interesting ways to help students learn about the importance of water. Students will learn ways to conserve and manage water resources and about how wastewater is treated at the Gippsland Water Factory.
The schools program will feature a range of resources, such as easy-to-use information kits and interactive exercises that schools can easily implement in the classroom.
Interpretive centre
An interpretive centre is planned for the Gippsland Water Factory as a key part of an overall education program on water conservation and resource management.
Design of the Gippsland Water Factory interpretive centre would draw on concepts from similar facilities in other countries and give visitors a better understanding of the inner workings of the Gippsland Water Factory, showcasing the technology used in the treatment process.
Using interactive displays, visitors would be able to see how recycled water is produced through the treatment process and learn more about how water is managed in the Gippsland region. School visits to the interpretive centre would also be welcomed. |
